How to Stay Positive Despite Setbacks & Hurdles in Life?
Stay Positive- It's hard. It sounds stupid. But it's worth trying.
Here's a short blog post about methods that will help you to stay positive and happy no matter what happens in your life.
1) Preserve and Remember Good memories:
Award winning, American Singer & Song writer Taylor Swift in an interview after very positive the ME! Single's launch said that "there's no happily ever after in life". also that "we have some good days and bad days in life." Indeed, we must enjoy the good days and remember them during our hard times to stay calm and have a hope of surviving the tough times. Good memories with our loved ones, friends and even pets help us to get through the tough times or at least make us smile for a second! Life's not a fairy tale with forever happiness but a mixture of happy and not so happy situations coming our way. We need to respond with a calm mind to each situation.
Here's ME! song which shows that despite arguments and sadness, everything becomes fine and everyone becomes happy afterwards, thus, 'happily ever after':-
2) Remember that nothing is permanent:-
Yes, life's happy moments as well as sad moments are not permanent. That's why stay humble when everything's going fine and stay strong when you're feeling like everything's going wrong in your life. It shall all pass. Keeping this in mind also helps us to cope with the loss of a loved one. It helps us to realize that we are not immortal and we must appreciate the life & people as much as possible.
3) Life has its Ups and Downs:-
Like the last point was about the time limit of each situation, this point is about life's nature of giving you good and bad things. At one moment, life is perfect and then it's not perfect but what makes it perfect is knowing that there will always be a chance of the situation changing. Never let it affect your mind for too long.
4) Negativity and skepticism stops you from giving your 100% :-
Being positive is different from vain optimism. Positive attitude means having confidence that you will try your best to do something. It's best to discuss with others and have a backup plan if it fails but focusing on the success of your task is very important. Only being negative sometimes stops you from trying new things or taking big decisions. If you don't do anything, it won't happen.
5) Focus on solutions and not problems:
We often focus on the impact of problems on our lives instead of trying to use the information to form a solution for the problems. Staying in a state of sadness wouldn't help the situation. If some loss has occurred, then we need to try and see what can be done after the loss to make the situation better.
6) Think about the positive aspects of every situation & every person:-
It's hard to see positive aspect of anything. Especially if a situation is irritating like a traffic jam or a queue. Some people are annoying and you would wish that they should simply disappear from your life but every person is in your life for a reason. Irritating situations and irritating people teach you patience and people management skills. Such situations and people also make you appreciate good situations and good people in your life.
7) You might be almost there! :-
Many people give up when they have almost reached their goals. The fuel of positiveness and hope runs out just before they reach the finish line. Don't let that happen to you. Keep the hope alive by trusting yourself, trusting the future, trusting your skills.
8) Stop the Regrets:-
We are humans and we all make mistakes. We miss opportunities and fail sometimes. Think about it for a while, learn form it, note down the lessons and move on. If you keep thinking about your past, your present is wasted and the future is ruined. Regret only makes things worse.
