Importance of Focusing on Self & Solution for Jealousy

Horses have eye blinders when on a cart or a carriage. Why? If they focus on other places or things, they might get distracted and it will affect their speed and performance. Sometimes, they will stop running because of fear or greed of grass.

This same principle is applied to humans. That doesn't mean we should ignore general awareness, rules or be careless about important issues. If taken in a positive way, it means to only focus on the path we have taken and not caring about what others have achieved or done. Also, never to stop mid way because of self doubt or fear of failure.

Taking inspiration from celebrities, politicians or historic personalities who are not alive does not make us jealous of them or envy them. But when we look at the people who are alive and especially, those who are peers or well known to us, we might become jealous of them and if not, there's a chance of feeling stressed or sad when we compare our own life or achievements to their life.

We have to remember that everyone's life is like a blank book. You are the author of it. Every story is different. Everyone can take different paths, move at different speed but reach the same destination. "The Right Time" is different for different people. The only thing we can do is keep moving while not being distracted by others, whether that be taunts, discouragements, or even their achievements. If you can't help someone at least do no harm, in the same way, if you can't appreciate someone's achievement or feel happy about it, then at least don't hate. For humans, it's difficult to do because of our competitive nature, and it causes a lot of mental stress. That's why, at least for the sake of your happiness, just brush it off and ignore by saying, "Good for that person, I don't want that for now, I will get it some day"

Motivation through others' achievement is only possible when we are mature enough to have a big heart and when having a wise mind. The only thing to remember is- "Don't worry, you'll get there and if not, appreciate what you've got. Many people don't even have that".

When feeling arrogant, look at those who have more than you and when feeling sad or jealous, look at those who have less than you. This way, we can try to always stay as humble and focused as possible.
