How to generate new ideas & be creative?

Coming up with new ideas is always a difficult task, especially when you're busy. Here is a simple 3 step method to help you generate new ideas!

Step 1:  Find inspiration though books, films, music, social media, and other sources.

  Many big actors were big film fans. Many businessmen read books. The most successful managers, and CEOs often try to learn new things or take up hobbies. Why is that? We all need a source to generate new ideas. So, start watching films, reading books, being a consumer of the media which fits your industry/work. You will definitely start to get new ideas. Sometimes even unrelated entertainment can help us generate a new idea. (Like this Inc. Magazine article about the success lessons from The Wolf of Wall Street Movie) 


Step 2: Meet, talk, & learn from others.

 Try meeting new people who are in the industry/work field such as yours or the one you want to enter. That's why we have- LinkedIn, FaceBook, Twitter, and other such platforms, besides of course, real life summits, conferences, or through other real life meets (When the COVID-19 outbreak is over). Even a small talk with your friends, family, colleagues, seniors, juniors can help you learn new things. Even better if you can find a mentor, guide or a teacher to help you learn about the field you'd like to enter or excel in.


Step 3: Meditate, think about things, and ask- Why, What, Where, When & How?

 After collecting all the information from the above steps, give yourself a quiet time. Calm down, and then think about what you want to achieve or do, in your workplace / business, why, and how to do it. What is going on in the world, and how can you solve the problems of yourself, and that of others? What should you do, and what you want to do? Remember the past, the lessons from it, and be thankful for the present, while planning for the future.
