Importance of Teachers in Life & Society!
Teacher’s Day, and movies/books about school/college or even literature like Harry Potter reminds us of our teachers, and what they did for us during our learning years.
Teaching is a profession that requires a lot of sacrifice, and efforts which
often go without gratefulness, and in many countries with underpayment/delay in
payment or even no payment at all (Especially in the developing countries). Now with the current Corona outbreak, things have become worse for the education field, but still, the teachers' fraternity is adapting through online teaching & trying their best to help their students.
Why would a person
spend the entire life teaching the same thing to the same aged batch of
kids/teens/adults but every time there are new faces & challenges of
adjusting with them, and getting good marks/grades from them? The teachers
often become teachers because they like educating others, love interacting with them, and think that the profession of teaching is one of those fields with an actual impact on the society.
Teachers from the school, and college become like our parents, and teach us the morals, and the ways of life besides the syllabus. They discipline us and help us to have an organized life. Just imagine what would have happened if a teacher from your childhood didn’t try to make you perform well? What if a teacher had said that “It’s not my fault that this kid hates math or history.” They don’t give up on you, and don’t allow you to give up on yourself either.
Teachers come in many
forms. There are formal teachers from school, and college of course. Then there
are teachers in disguise. The parents often form the base of life as they’re
the first teachers before we start the formal school. Family, siblings, and
then our spouse, and even children/grandchildren teach us a lot (Younger
kids often are tech savvy!). Wisdom of elders teach some of the priceless
lessons. Your friends, or seniors, perhaps even juniors who teach you some life
lessons through their behavior or some give their precious time to
teach you a tough subject, or solve a tough problem. The same is true about
seniors, colleagues, and bosses at the workplace, who often mentor/help new employees to learn,
and adjust to the work environment. Many people we meet in life might teach you
something. That’s why it’s often advised to read biographies so that we learn
from others’ struggles, and mistakes.
A Farmer feeds a generation
A Soldier defends a generation
A Teacher creates a generation
Life without knowledge is simply not fulfilling, and not easy to survive. Teachers impact the society by helping generations through the help in getting a formal education, informally teaching them morals, and helping them to set realistic goals in life. Teachers care for us, and thus it’s high time we, as a society, start caring about teachers too.
Thanks to all the teachers of this world for making this world a better, and an educated place. Besides, educating me so that I could write this blog, and my readers, who can read this and many other things in their life.
Thank you for reading!
