Post COVID Offices - Will the Offices Disappear?

Image
As Corona virus is still going strong, and the vaccine not coming very soon, there's an important question- Are the traditional offices a thing of the past now? Well, not really as we all know how still our essential workers, medical professionals, politicians, defense forces, the police, and many IT companies are working with minimum staff, and safety precautions, the offices are not gone per say, but the working conditions will be different than before. I think that most of the positions will be converted to remote/at home ones, and if not, the staff will be much less than what it was. Only bare necessary, so that there's enough distance between people to avoid the spread of the virus unknowingly as we know that the aerosols containing the virus strands can land on the other person's body and if unknowingly that person touches the nose/eyes/mouth, the virus will enter the body. Besides, the risk of breathing in the aerosols while talking. Masks, sanitizers, heat senso...

Life Lessons From NASA & Space X’s Launch America Crewed Space Shuttle Launch (May 2020)

Image
NASA and Space X made history on May 31 st 2020, as the first crewed shuttle (Since Apollo 11 Mission 1969) with 2 astronauts was launch and safely landed on ISS (International Space Station). It was a challenging task requiring a lot of work.  About the Launch America: A new era of human spaceflight is set to begin as American astronauts once again launch on an American rocket from American soil to the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley will fly on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, lifting off on a Falcon 9 rocket at 3:22 p.m. EDT May 30, from Launch Complex 39A in Florida, for an extended stay at the space station for the Demo-2 mission. How Corona virus changed priorities for everyone

Image
It is said that Health is wealth, corona made it even more clear as people stay inside their home to avoid contacting the COVID-19 infection, a dangerously contagious respiratory disease that spreads easily from human to human contact. Countries sealed their borders, stopped flights, and started lock down to curb the virus. Despite having to pay a huge price economically, every country took the difficult decision of stopping all non-essential businesses and services so that human contact, crowding and travelling is stopped. This shows the importance of human health over money.   What is an economy without humans to run it? Without good health, there is nothing people can do to help the economy, whether it is being a consumer, or earning money through jobs or business. Some countries were late to stop the activities through the lock down, and they had to pay the price as the Corona cases increased in thousands and so did the deaths. This also made the world realize a...

Work From Home: Stigma to Necessity

Image
Corona or COVID-19 virus has changed the world. It has changed the way we interact with others, and the way we work. The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), otherwise known as COVID-19, is an infectious disease first identified in the city of Wuhan, capital of Hubei province in China, after 41 people developed pneumonia without a clear cause. Infections have since been reported around the world. Symptoms include fever, coughing and breathing difficulties. In the world before this outbreak, people used to be proud of the travel, socializing, parties and such, but now such things are frowned upon. The reason is the invisible nature of the virus and how it acts. A person infected with it will not show the symptoms for a few days and if that person meets others the virus can still infect others. This is the reason why everyone is urging others to stay at home so that the virus doesn't spread "accidentally" by those people unaware of the virus inside their body. ...

Importance of Focusing on Self & Solution for Jealousy

Image
Horses have eye blinders when on a cart or a carriage. Why? If they focus on other places or things, they might get distracted and it will affect their speed and performance. Sometimes, they will stop running because of fear or greed of grass.       This same principle is applied to humans. That doesn't mean we should ignore general awareness, rules or be careless about important issues. If taken in a positive way, it means to only focus on the path we have taken and not caring about what others have achieved or done. Also, never to stop mid way because of self doubt or fear of failure.      Taking inspiration from celebrities, politicians or historic personalities who are not alive does not make us jealous of them or envy them. But when we look at the people who are alive and especially, those who are peers or well known to us, we might become jealous of them and if not, there's a chance of feeling stressed or sad when we compare our ow...

Keeping the New Year Resolutions Through Smaller Goals

Image
Happy New Year! 2020 is here!  New Year New Goals, right? We all make New Year Resolutions but often we fail to keep them. Why is that? It could be because the goals are not clear and lack planning. Here's how to have a better chance of achieving your New Year Resolution: 1. Have Realistic Goals: It's good to dream big but if we set goals that are impossible to achieve in one year, then we will only get stressed and feel like we can't achieve anything, so it's better to set realistic goals. Example: Instead of reading 100 books a year, decide on 10 most interesting ones first and try to finish them. 2. Break goals into smaller tasks: Like the last point, create steps and smaller tasks that lead to the big goal that you want to achieve. Like with the example of the book, make a goal to read at least 2 pages of a book daily and then go on increasing the number of pages as your capacity increases. 3. Write it down & place it where you see them: ...

5 Steps to Deal with Any Challenge without Fear!

Image
We all have challenges in life and with challenges, comes stress and and fear. With experience, the fear reduces because of the wisdom and practice of handling challenges. In this blog, I share an approach used by me to handle any challenge. Quick ways to minimize panic and fear when faced with any challenge: 1) Know the challenge and get the facts What is the problem? How is it affecting you? Try to gain some information from the concerned persons related to the problem. Even from books or the Internet, if possible. Knowing the situation is battle half won 2) Know the solutions available Is this a challenge commonly faced by others? Are there any solutions for this? Can I find more information about this from others who faced the challenge in the past? Like the problem itself, the solutions can be found on the Internet, from friends, teachers, colleagues or superiors. In some cases, we find solutions in auto biographies, travel books, self help books or article...

5 Types of People that Enrich Your Life!

Image
5 Types of People that Enrich Your Life: 1. Cheerleader: Supporting everything you do without question. Sometimes we do need that kind of unconditional positive support.Wants you to stay positive and keep doing things that you love. They're very rare kind of people because they don't demand anything in return but simply like being connected with you because you provide happiness and motivation in their life, as much as they motivate (and often push) you to do the things you want to do, without any fear. 2. Realist: Supports you but points out your mistakes and wants you to improve. Never makes you feel that you can't do it but want you to think from all sides. These type of people try to make you realize the situation as it is without any false praise. They are the best critics because they praise the good and provide honest feedback in the form of constructive criticism. 3. Teacher: Not just real teachers from school, college or company train...
